Petrovich, nicknamed the "Bloody Vulture" was an acquaintance of both Indiana Jones and Simon Katanga. By 1936, Jones had had a memorable encounter with him around some islands while Katanga had last met up with Petrovich in Malaya.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Petrovich was a character referenced in the first draft of Lawrence Kasdan's screenplay for Raiders of the Lost Ark, where Katanga tells Indiana Jones that they have a friend in common outside of Sallah. The background detail was dropped by the third draft.[1]
