Planet Xantar was a distant world located far from Earth, known for its abundance of ancient and valuable artifacts. In the 1930s, an alien from Xantar visited Mexico and brought Indiana Jones to the planet in a spacecraft to lead an expedition there.[1]
The planet featured lush green forests and vast, seemingly endless swamps. During his expedition, Indiana Jones grew frustrated with the harsh terrain and the apparent lack of "fortune and glory," exclaiming to his host, "Listen, Bug-Eyes, you told me I'd find priceless artifacts, and instead I'm slogging through an endless swamp!"[2] The planet was also visited by Luke Skywalker, who arrived after encountering the same alien during a similar expedition of his own. While there, Skywalker came across a "lonely and depressed" Jones and remarked to the native, "I'm not sure how to help this guy. He obviously comes from a primitive world," ultimately convincing the alien to return Jones to his original homeworld.[2]
