Indiana Jones Wiki

Plebinheim was a Nazi archaeologist who owned a white rat named Tristan.

Biography[]

Around 1936, Plebinheim headed a Schutzstaffel (SS) expedition to Mexico in search of the Mazatec Power Key, an artifact with which he planned to destroy the United States of America. He also enlisted the aid of Don Ramone, an unusual local who had the ability to shapeshift into an eagle. When the US Army caught wind of the Nazi archaeologist's machinations, Washington DC sent Indiana Jones to undermine his efforts and, in turn, Plebinheim directed SS forces to pursue the American once he became aware of Jones's involvement.[1]

Although Plebinheim claimed the key, Indiana Jones—assisted by Marion Ravenwood—made headway in collecting pieces required to carry out the ritual to tap into the artifact's ability to control the Earth's "pulse" and had unwittingly formed an alliance with a shapeshifter of his own: Don Pedro, a man whose powers were tied to the snakes that Jones hated.[1]

The Nazis captured Marion and Jones but, on the way to the Pyramid of the Moon to conduct the ritual, the cage holding Jones was lost en route. Plebinheim went ahead with his operation at the pyramid, planning to use Marion, hooked up to a device linked to the Mazatec Power Key, as a sacrifice. Indiana Jones arrived with Don Pedro in time to disrupt the Nazi's efforts. While Pedro and Ramone fought each other over the chamber in their animal forms, Jones hurled a knife at Plebhinheim, striking him in chest and the Nazi fell dead into the sacrificial pool. The device was deactivated before its power could be unleashed and the victorious Pedro acknowledged the American archaeologist before he vanished with the artifact.[1]
