Pola Negri was an actress encountered by Indiana Jones in 1920 at the party given by Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks. She was seen dancing with Rudolph Valentino.
Behind the scenes[]
Pola Negri was portrayed by an uncredited actress/dancer in Young Indiana Jones and the Hollywood Follies.
While the film shows Negri attending a Hollywood party in 1920, Negri did not arrive in Hollywood until 1922. She was the first European star under contract in Hollywood, having an already established career in Europe, before being signed by Paramount Pictures. "Pola Negri" was a stage name. A promotional advertisement, made shortly after Negri's arrival to the United States, claimed that Negri was a Jewish woman, whose real name was Paula Schwartz. In actuality, Negri's real name was Barbara Apolonia Chalupec, and she was of Romani-Slovak descent.
