The Pontifical Swiss Guard, or simply Swiss Guard, comprise an armed force, honor guard and protective security unit for the Pope within Vatican City.
In 1937, archaeologist Indiana Jones visited the Vatican but, with the Pope convalescing away from the Holy See having taken ill, his sighting of the Swiss Guard was limited to the image of a soldier in Piazza San Pietro on a postcard he scooped up for his Adventure Journal. Instead, the Vatican was riddled with Prime Minister Benito Mussolini's Blackshirts as part of Father Cesare Ventura's machinations which allowed Third Reich Special Antiquities Collection agent Emmerich Voss to capture the Holy See's collection of Great Circle artifacts.[1]
