Vicky Prentiss, a member of the Prentiss family, in 1916.
The Prentiss family was a British family of which Vicky Prentiss was part. Family members included:
- Sir Peregrine Prentiss - Diplomat
- Lady Prentiss - Suffragette
- Vicky Prentiss – Bus fare collector
- Vicky Prentiss' brother - World War I officer
The Prentisses traveled a lot as a result of Peregrine's job and was very involved in the suffrage movement due to Lady Prentiss' influence, particularly the East London Federation of Suffragettes. American Indiana Jones, a future archaeologist, attempted to marry into the family following a whirlwind romance with Vicky in 1916 while passing through the United Kingdom to enlist in the Great War, but Vicky turned him down over uncertainties about their future together and a wedding's threat to her career prospects. Although Jones was initially angry at being rejected, they eventually parted ways on more amicable terms and, despite decades apart, were thrilled by a chance reunion in their twilight years.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
An attempt to finally make Indiana Jones part of the Prentiss family was championed by Old Indy bookends actor George Hall, who proposed a two-hour series finale for The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in which Vicky Prentiss and Indy would marry after their long-awaited reunion in the closing scenes of "London, May 1916".[2]
