"Ravenelle, Early February 1917" was an unproduced episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles intended as part of the third season of the series. The subject of the episode was flying.
In this episode, Indiana Jones and Remy Baudouin join the Belgian Espionage Corps. Baudouin is then sent to Brussels while Jones is assigned as an aerial reconnaissance photographer to the Lafayette Escadrille air base. There, he has some adventures with French flying ace Charles Nungesser. However, Indy falls temporarily into German hands and relays a challenge from Baron Manfred von Richthofen to Nungesser for an air duel. Indy is brought along unwillingly andis involved in the dogfight between Richthofen and Nungesser. On another reconnaissance flight, the American unit is attacked and results in many casualties by the "Flying Circus".
Although the TV show was canceled in its second season, material for the episode had been filmed and was broadcast in an edited form as Young Indiana Jones and the Attack of the Hawkmen, a TV movie later released on home video as part of The Complete Adventures of Indiana Jones VHS collection.
