Red Cross Junction was a road in Bryce Canyon, Utah.[1]
In 1936, its road sign served as a rendezvous point for Indiana Jones to meet with Professor Joost van Meert to trade the Lost Book of the Cabal and Philosopher's Stone for the safe return of his friend Marya Smirnova who had been taken hostage by the supposed Dutchman. Unknown to Jones, van Meert was actually a Nazi scientist and officer who reneged on the deal anyway and both Smirnova and Jones were taken captive.[1]
