At the St Regis hotel on August 13 of that year, he interviewed NASA scientist Professor Schmidt over his celebrated involvement in the Apollo 11 mission and was puzzled when the man said he had designs beyond space but his probing was curtailed by Schmidt's handler Baxter. Instead, the reporter was able to get some antagonizing remarks on record from Schmidt about the US president, which the scientist encouraged him to keep.[1]
