Rita was a girl who Indiana Jones had almost married.
While clinging to the periscope of the Wurrfler in 1936, Jones remembered Rita as he thought up ways of not falling asleep and wondered where she was at that time. However, he ultimately considered their parting to have been "a lucky escape".
