Rolf was a Nazi soldier under Klaus Kerner and was part of the excavation team stationed near the Atlas Mountains around Algiers in 1939.
There, he shot at Indiana Jones when the archaeologist approached the Atlas dig site. He caught him again when Jones found an alternative route. Held at gunpoint, Jones offered to show Rolf a magic trick then knocked away the machine gun with his bullwhip and rendered Rolf unconscious.
Behind the scenes[]
Rolf appears in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. The narrative used in this article corresponds to the "Fists Path" of the game, where his role is more significant. He appears again in minor roles in the other paths:
- On the "Team Path," Rolf shoots down the balloon in which Indy and Sophia Hapgood are flying to find the dig site, causing it to crash on himself, killing him.
- On the "Wits Path," Rolf is most likely the Nazi soldier with a machine gun guarding the hatch of Kerner's submarine when it is on lockdown. After Indy escapes, Rolf makes no further appearances.
