Sergei Diaghilev (1872–1929) was a Russian art critic, patron, ballet impresario, and founder of the legendary Ballets Russes. He is widely credited with revolutionizing ballet in the early 20th century by combining innovative choreography, music, and visual arts.
Biography[]
Indiana Jones encountered Sergei Diaghilev while working as a spy in May 1917. After approving Jones's legs, Diaghilev cast him as an eunuch in his production of Scherazade.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Sergei Diaghilev was portrayed by the late William Hootkins in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles episode "Barcelona, May 1917", later edited into Espionage Escapades.[1] Hootkins had previously portrayed Major Eaton in Raiders of the Lost Ark.[2]
