Sixtus of Bourbon-Parma was a prince and lieutenant in the Belgian army during World War I.
Biography[]
In 1917, Sixtus along with his brother Xavier and French Intelligence captain Indiana Jones went to Austria to convince Emperor Karl I, his brother-in-law, to agree to a separate peace with Great Britain and France.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Sixtus of Bourbon-Parma was portrayed by Benedict Taylor in the "Austria, March 1917" episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, later re-edited into Adventures in the Secret Service.[1] Coincidentally, Taylor is the brother of dancer Femi Taylor, who played Oola in George Lucas' 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.[2] This family connection plus Young Indy producer Rick McCallum's later work on the Star Wars franchise proved instrumental when Lucas decided to the Special Editions of the Star Wars original trilogy, leading Taylor to inform McCallum that his sister was still in the same shape she had been in 1982, enabling Femi to reprise the role for the new scenes added in the edition.[3]
