For other uses, see Snake Temple (disambiguation).

The Snake Temple was a Chachapoyan-like structure located in a Peruvian valley.

One of a handful of sites that could have been a possible resting place for a valuable golden idol, the temple needed to be eliminated from consideration as the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors—where the relic was hidden—in Indiana Jones' 1936 pursuit of the artifact as an expedition to the wrong location would leave the prize vulnerable to others who sought to claim it in the wake of Forrestal's disappearance.[1]
