The Sons of Noah, including Ham, were the progeny of the Biblical shipbuilder who survived the Great Flood aboard an ark during humanity's prehistory.
History[]
According to legend, Ham and his brothers used seventeen stones crafted by the Metatron, an angel acting as the voice of God, to return the animals that their sire Noah had collected to spare them from the Great Flood generated by the divine creator to cleanse the Earth. After the waters had subsided, Noah's children travelled along the Great Circle, a journey that begat mankind's civilizations and, in an effort to avoid another cataclysm, hid each stone at a different site around the globe.[1]
While Christian tradition would go on to attest that Noah had three children, which artist Michelangelo depicted in the Genesis story on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel,[2] an older account indicted that a fourth son also survived the deluge.[1]
