Starlog

Starlog was a print magazine founded in 1976, originally intended to focus on Star Trek but ultimately expanding its scope to encompass "The Science Fiction Universe" altogether.

As one of the earliest publications to report on the Star Wars franchise, Starlog had a longstanding professional relationship with Lucasfilm which then extended to coverage of the Indiana Jones franchise and other Lucasfilm genre productions. Articles on Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were all contributed over the course of the magazine's publishing history, with characters from the franchise also featured on the covers to numerous issues.

Castmembers interviewed for Starlog about their work on the Indiana Jones franchise included the five principal actors to have played Indiana Jones himself (Corey Carrier, Sean Patrick Flanery, Harrison Ford, George Hall, and River Phoenix) as well as Karen Allen, Dan Aykroyd, Kate Capshaw, Dimitri Diatchenko, Alison Doody, Paul Freeman, Ke Huy Quan, John Rhys-Davies, Patrick Roach, and Jay Underwood.

Along with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, crewmembers interviewed for the magazine about the franchise included writers Jeffrey Boam, Frank Darabont, Willard Huyck, Lawrence Kasdan, Gloria Katz, and David Koepp; producers Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Robert Watts; assistant director David Tomblin, production designer Norman Reynolds, and sound designer Ben Burtt (prior to his work on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles or his writing and directing Young Indiana Jones and the Attack of the Hawkmen).

Starlog abruptly ceased publication in 2009, but every issue of the magazine was later made available in its entirety on the Internet Archive.
