The Strange Idol is actually the head of the Star Wars character C-3PO, which can be used to initiate an Easter egg in which Indiana Jones is abducted by an alien and taken to a galaxy far, far away.
Jones tries to pass off a similar idol to Belloq as the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol in LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.
