I wrote the history section of the article. It would be great if someone would edit it. But before you do please remember that it is a summery of the history of the Akator, not a summery of the movie. I don't go into the interactions between charectors because from the cities point of view all that matters is the skull is returned, not the interpersonal stories of the people who do it. "El dorado"Edit

Why were all the references to El dorado removed? MoffRebus 08:27, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

  • I agree with this confusion- even though the movie DOES retcon the earlier El Dorado adventure, wouldn't that adventure necessitate a Behind the Scenes section, at the very least? Dewback rancher 19:54, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
    • Yes. ;) The Ultimate Guide still acknowledges the story so it happened. Just not necessarily the way the German book shows it. The contradiction should be in the BTS and the rest worked in the article as best as possible. The Qin Shi Huang page had a similar problem. Vetinari(Appointment) 22:07, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
      • My feeling is that El Dorado deserves a separate article, to deal with all the other El Dorados Indy has encountered. Note that I don't see these as necessarily conflicting with Akator...El Dorado becomes simply a somewhat generic term referring to a mythical lost city of gold. It's like the multiple crystal skulls or Philosopher's Stones. --Icybro 04:35, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
        • I think so too these days. Maybe El Dorado should still redirect here but the El Dorado from the German novel seems to have been retconned as "golden valley" in the Ultimate Guide anyway. Vetinari(Appointment) 21:35, October 4, 2011 (UTC)
