Indiana jones does not use a colt .45 He Uses a Colt New Service M1917 in .45ACP in temple of doom, Smith and Wesson Hand Ejector II in raiders and Webley MK VI in Last Crusade and Crystal Skull. He also briefly uses a Browning Hi Power during the bar shootout in Raiders and both a Walther P38 and MP-40 in Last Crusade.

Colt New Service

I may be wrong but, in Raiders of the Lost Ark...Indy had what looked to be a Colt 1909 New Service in the scene where He`d thought He killed Marion Ravenwood in the truck that over turned and exploded. I froze the scene where you get a close up at the Colt in his hand and saw what looked to be the rim of (obviously blank), .45 long colt cartridges at the rear of the cylinder-unless they were .45 auto rim(very rare), my guess it was a 1909 New Service and not an ACP 1917....

Turns out the sidearm of Indy in temple of doom, which had debate for years comes down to an end. It was a Colt Offical Police, a .38 Special revolver of that time, back then it was assumed it was one of the .455 eley revolvers used in Raiders, but research has lead to this. however the prop gun dropped from the car was a Smith & Wesson Model 10.

And also with Raiders, He uses a Smith & Wesson M1917 in the scenes where it isnt fired, but in Cairo and the fight by the plane scene, it was a Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector Mk 2, loaded with .455 eley, a very strong caliber at the time. the backup gun used by Jones in the movie is an Inglis Hi power, due to its humped sights ( normal Browning Hi-Powers had adjustable sights.) it is seen in the bar fight scene, and on the bantu wind as Indy checks for Nazis before Marion is captured. The inglis hi power is the canadian make of the Browning Hi Power. which is a slight anachronism, since they were manufactured in 1944 but the browning hi power was produced in 1935, so its not impossible.
