British and Belgian soldiers playing a game of tennis in 1916.

Tennis is a sports game of British origin.

The game was popular among British officers during World War I, and in 1916, Indiana Jones, representing the 9th Belgian Infantry, played a game of tennis near the Café du Mioi and New Monico with a bet being that the loser would buy the winners beer the rest of the day. The Belgians lost.
