In 1936, a truck filled with explosives was parked on the street just outside of the company when a group of locals operating at the direction of Nazi agents ensured that a basket was also loaded on it. Thought by the pursuing Indiana Jones to hold the captive Marion Ravenwood, the basket had already been switched with the archaeologist unaware and the ensuing explosion appeared to have killed Ravenwood. Instead, the extraction had sent Ravenwood on to the Tanis Dig.
