The Great Movie Ride was an attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios, presented as a tour guide into classic Hollywood movies through scenes re-enacted with audio-animatronic characters.
For the representation of the adventure film genre, the ride recreated the moment from Raiders of the Lost Ark in which Indiana Jones and Sallah lift the Ark of the Covenant from its resting place in the Well of Souls.
While guests waited in line for the ride, they could view famous sets and props from various films, including as the sword Indy used to cut the Pankot rope bridge and one of the "chilled monkey brains" heads from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
