The South Seas Club was a nightclub which was visited by Jock Lindsey.
History[]
At one point, The South Seas Club was visited by Bigelow's Air Circus pilot Cliff Secord's fellow aviator colleague Jock Lindsey who took coasters from the club as souvenirs. Jock would eventually repurpose them within his own bar in the town of Disney Springs, Florida following its opening in 1955.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The South Seas Club is a reference to the 1991 film The Rocketeer directed by Lucasfilm Ltd. alumnus Joe Johnston. The film is thematically similar to the Indiana Jones films, following a pulp-inspired action hero taking on the Nazis.
In the film, the South Seas Club is an establishment in Los Angeles active in the 1930s where Cliff Secord fights Nazi agents. Both The Rocketeer and The South Seas Club are alluded to at Disney Park attractions including Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar, Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and the Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café.
