A tiger is one of the larger species of feline.

Adventures with tigers

According to legend, the god of war Kartikeya in the shape of tiger fought a warrior in combat after which the tiger and man became one under the name Sherdil.[1]

One of the statues fashioned by the 16th-century artist Wohat came in the form of a tiger.[2]

In India in 1914, Prince Kasim Khan was suspected of being a weretiger when one of the big cats was roaming the area.[3]

It was after defending himself from a tiger called The Great Khan in India that Indiana Jones discovered the Thuggee cult was resurgent at the City of Lightning in 1930.[4]
