Tintoretto was a sixteenth century Italian painter.
The French Army's General Staff Headquarters in Souilly was said to have several large oil paintings adorning the walls, including a Tintoretto.[1]
Walter Donovan owned some of Tintoretto's work and kept it at his Venetian apartment around 1938.[2]
