The Trobriand Islands lie off off the eastern coast of New Guinea. They are featured in Young Indiana Jones and the Treasure of the Peacock's Eye.
When Indy and Remy were trying to track down the great diamond the Peacock's Eye they are eventually marooned on one of the Trobriand Islands. There they meet distinguished Polish anthropologist Bronisław Malinowski whose reasoning eventually makes Indy realise that he must forsake the quest for the diamond, a venture which could easily have lasted years, to pursue his dream of becoming an archaeologist. Through Malinowski Indy learns some valuable lessons on anthropology. It is on the Trobriand Islands that Indy and Remy realise that their paths must now go in separate directions.
