Tyrus Raymond "Ty" Cobb was an American professional baseball center fielder.
Biography[]
Ty Cobb was a controversial but highly talented baseball player who regarded the game as a war. The young Indiana Jones considered him the best player ever.[1]
Jones owned a card depicting[2] the Detroit Tigers'[3] Ty Cobb[2] labeled "Cobb, Detroit".[1] He later gave the card to Jiddu Krishnamurti, with whom he had played baseball and cricket, as a token of friendship during a trip to Benares, India in 1910.[2]
While imprisoned at Dusterstadt, Indiana wondered if the Red Sox's pitcher, Babe Ruth, would had become as a big star as Ty Cobb.[4]
In 1935, Short Round did a slide across the threshold of a rising door like Ty Cobb to escape the chamber trap.[5]
