During the 1957 jungle chase, a Soviet Special Forces soldier was knocked unconscious and unwittingly became a passenger to Indiana Jones' hijacking of a Soviet Duck.

Biography[]

The man was one of several Soviet Special Forces soldiers serving under Irina Spalko in 1957 on their journey to Akator. He was part of a contingent of soldiers on board a military Duck with George 'Mac' McHale and the captive Harold Oxley when Indiana Jones leapt onto the back of it, disabling of all of soldiers plus Mac. Most of the soldiers were thrown from the car during the jungle chase but this one was knocked unconsciousness and carried in the passenger seat as Jones hijacked the vehicle.[1]

When he later regained consciousness, the soldier found that they were traveling along the very edge of a cliff, jockeying for position with Spalko in another car. The Soviet promptly leapt off the back to safety and Mac watched him roll in the dirt as they left the man behind.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The unconscious duck passenger was portrayed uncredited by stuntman Gleb Kaminer in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
