This Nazi officer worked out of the Castle Brunwald communications room around 1938.
Biography[]
While trying to escape from the fiery blaze spreading through the dining room of Castle Brunwald in 1938, Indiana Jones and his father Henry triggered a secret passage through the fireplace and stumbled upon a Nazi communications room.[1]
After a female officer discovered them, the male officer and his comrades followed her into the burning dining room in pursuit of the Joneses but Indiana jammed the door behind them with a bust of Adolf Hitler and left the Nazis to the will of the flames.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The unidentified officer was portrayed by an uncredited Paul Heasman in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.[1]
Rob MacGregor's novelization implies the officer and his fellows do die upon being sealed as Henry Walton Jones, Senior hears their screams.[2] In Les Martin's 1989 junior novelization, the officer survives because, after failing to shoot the Joneses, he and his fellows proceed to leave the radio room to alarm the Nazis.[3]
