An untitled Indiana Jones newspaper comic strip was a proposed newspaper comic strip planned by David Michelinie and Archie Goodwin around 1982/1983, the franchise's early years following the release of Raiders of the Lost Ark, which would have starred Indiana Jones in various new adventures but never reached newsprint.[1]
Despite the strip's cancellation, Michelinie later went on to work on The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones for Marvel Comics, fully taking over the series from John Byrne and Denny O'Neil after their work in the first three issues. Upon learning of Michelinie's position on the book and as part of his characteristic "generosity" as senior editor at Epic Comics, Goodwin supplied Michelinie with at least a half-dozen paragraphs of the story ideas they had considered for the aborted strip, which Michelinie developed for several issues, such as "Deadly Rock!" and offered Goodwin "a tip of the hat" in the credits.[1]
The Marvel writers in charge of the series mentioned the existence of the project in the Readers of the Lost Ark letters section of issue 17.[1]
