Urgon was the first of the four Disciples of Marduk, and he was, in particular, Nebuchadnezzar's great thinker and the high priest of the Babylonian religion at the time.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Urgon took one of the Infernal Machine's parts with him to the snowy mountains of Kazakhstan. Seeking refuge in the Shambala Sanctuary, Urgon at first accepted the hospitality of the monks. Later however, he grew as cold as the ice in the mountains. Although perhaps the most trusted and faithful Disciple, he was also a terribly vicious man, willing to do anything for the sake of maintaining his secret. Urgon installed himself as the leader of the monastery and created ice monster minions that massacred the inhabiting monks, all for the safety of the dark secret that Shambala now held. He carved out a large chamber in a mountain next to the monastery, and merging the ice all around with the magical forces within the sanctuary, he created a giant ice monster to guard his Machine part for centuries later. Urgon placed his Machine part on a pedestal in his study above the cavern he had created. Not wanting it out of his sight, he remained by its side until he eventually died there among his writing, his skeletal remains discovered there in 1947 by Indiana Jones.

A portrait appears throughout Urgon's inner sanctum and study; possibly an image of Urgon himself.
