Utah is one of the United States of America. Among its first white settlers were Mormons.

Adventures in Utah[]

Indiana Jones lived in Utah with his father in 1912. While there, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. On one outing with his troop he ran into a team of looters digging up the Cross of Coronado, and attempted to steal it back from them, but was unsuccessful.[1]

In 1928, Jones returned to Utah, where he met Oscar "Smitty" Smithers and his wife Rosie.[2]

In 1947, Indy collected artifacts in the canyon lands of Utah. While he was there he was visited by his old girlfriend Sophia Hapgood, who now works for the CIA. She tells Indy that the Russian Communists are excavating the ruins of Babylon looking for something. She asks Indy to take the assignment which is to find what the Soviets are looking for. Jones takes it.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

Some of the Utah scenes in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade were shot on location while others were filmed in New Mexico and Colorado.
