Valeria Mollino was a nun who worked for the Vatican Pharmacy.
Biography[]
Valeria's letter, found in Castel Sant'Angelo.
Around October 1937, Valeria Mollino was directed by Father Cesare Ventura, a Vatican priest closely aligned with Prime Minister Benito Mussolini, to provide Officer Luca Accordo with a full inventory of the Farmacia Vaticana's medicine supply. She begrudgingly complied, feeling it wasn't her place to question Ventura's authority, but she noted her dissatisfaction in her letter to Accordo.[1]
Indiana Jones found a copy of Mollino's correspondence while infiltrating the Vatican that same year and met the woman in his guise as "Father Gallagher" when he overheard her frustration with the Blackshirts having requisitioned the pharmacy's entire stock. After explaining the situation to the archaeologist, Mollino surreptitiously asked Jones to return any errant bottles he happened to bypass in his travels around the city.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Valeria Mollino was performed by Anthea Greco in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.[1]
