Venezuela is a Spanish-speaking country in the north of South America. Colombia lies to the west of the nation, Brazil to the south, and British Guiana to the east.
Pilot Jock Lindsey lived in Venezuela along with his numerous pets around 1936, and that same year Indiana Jones met with the treasure-seeking Barranca and Satipo to discuss arrangements on reaching the Temple of the Chachapoyan Warriors in Peru and the fertility idol said to be inside.
Behind the scenes[]
Due to his travel-writing lifestyle, Rob MacGregor was forced to write part of the Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade novelization with his laptop while in southern Venezuela, South America. MacGregor felt that the Latin American country's wilderness region was an ideal place for an Indiana Jones adventure: an area of expansive grasslands, jungles and soaring mesas reminiscent of the setting of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel The Lost World. Though the book he was writing didn't include any forests, MacGregor found writing the novelization in the Venezuelan forests very stimulating.[1]
