Wen Ch-Iu was a famous village doctor that practiced traditional Chinese medicine.
When Indiana Jones was struck down with typhoid fever in 1910, the doctor used medicines and acupuncture to treat him.[1]

Behind the scenes[]
Wen Ch-Iu was played by Dr. Le.[1]
Though the character is credited as "Wen Ch-Iu" in the credits of Journey of Radiance, the DVD subtitles refer to him as "Wen Chiu."[2] The comic book adaptation and Behind the Great Wall agree with the former.[3][4]
