Around 1939, the Nazi Luftwaffe employed the use of a World War I-era German biplane and the planes were encountered by Indiana Jones.
History[]
In 1939, Indy visited Sudan to recover relics from the Nubian Pyramids. As he arrived he saw a biplane fly over him. After he escaped a Sudanese temple, Indy saw the plane land near a German Desert Commando camp. He fought through the Nazi forces and reached a truck which he used to chase after the plane as it took off. Indy jumped on the plane, punched the pilot and threw him out. The plane, however, was damaged and so Indy had to fly the plane through a network of canyons to better avoid being shot by pursuing Nazi aircraft. Exiting the canyons, Jones escaped to freedom.
Around that same year, Indy and his father chased a pair of stolen artifacts in the jungles of South America while battling Nazi soldiers. The final part of their adventure saw them stealing a German biplane from a Nazi airbase and they took it through some narrow valleys to catch up to the pieces which the Germans sought to finance the Nazi war effort. They battled with Messershmitts as they flew through the valleys, shooting down a small zeppelin in the process. The Joneses encountered the D-LZ 127 zeppelin lifting a giant golden idol from its temple. Indy and his father were able to destroy the zeppelin with their vehicle while evading Messershmitts and fly to safety.
